Kenya’s John Korir won the men’s 2026 Boston Marathon on Monday, finishing first in the men’s race for the second consecutive year and setting a course record in the process.
Sharon Lokedi, also from Kenya, finished first in the women’s race for the second year in a row. She crossed the finish line with a time of 02:18:51, 44 seconds ahead of fellow Kenyan runner Loice Chemnung. Mary Nugugi-Cooper and Mercy Chelangat gave Kenya the top four finishers in the event.

Korir finished with a time of 2:01:52, 55 seconds ahead of Tanzania's Alphonce Felix Simbu, who placed as the runner-up for the second year in a row. With that time, Korir ran to the fastest finish for the event in its 130-year history. The previous best was 2:03:02, set by Geoffrey Mutai in 2011. Korir’s finish topped that by 1:10.
