Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts will reportedly sign his franchise tag, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Falcons and Pitts will reportedly continue to negotiate a long-term deal but he now locks in his $15.045M fully guaranteed one-year contract.
Pitts attended the first day of the Falcons offseason program on Tuesday. The 25-year-old tight end is coming off a breakout season with the Falcons last season. He finished with 88 catches for 928 yards and 5 touchdowns. His receptions and yard total were his most since his rookie year and only trailed Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, while his touchdowns were a career-high.

Pitts was also durable playing a full 17 games for the second consecutive season and in three out of four seasons. After the season, he was named second team All-Pro for the first time in his career.
