New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence reportedly requested a trade and will not participate in OTAs, which open on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Giants and Lawrence have reportedly been through two seasons attempting to negotiate a contract. With the Giants and Lawrence unable to reach a new deal, head coach John Harbaugh will start OTAs without their two-time All-Pro defensive tackle. Lawrence is scheduled to make $20 million this season and has two years remaining on his contract.

Despite Lawrence’s request to be moved, the Giants reportedly view him as untouchable barring insane return value, SNY’s Connor Hughes reported in March.

Lawrence has spent his first seven years with the Giants since getting drafted by the team in the first round out of Clemson in 2019. Last season, the 28-year-old had 31 tackles, 1 interception, 4 batted balls and 7 run stuffs in 17 games. After coming off a career-high nine sacks in 12 games in 2024, Lawrence finished last year with 0.5 of a sack.
