Masters 2026: How does the cutline work?

AUGUSTA, Ga. — As Round 2 of the Masters gets underway, some of the biggest names in the game are already in danger of missing the cut at Augusta National.

Jon Rahm came into the week on fire over on the LIV tour, but a 6-over 78 put him on the wrong side of the cutline heading into Round 2.

The top 50 players and ties will make it to the weekend, and after Round 1 Rahm found himself in a tie for 73rd.

The projected cutline in the early going of Round 2 is +3. Big names currently on the wrong side of the line include: Rahm, Bubba Watson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantlay and Robert MacIntyre.

DeChambeau’s opening round imploded at No. 11, where he needed several shots to get out of a greenside bunker. That led to a triple bogey.

MacIntyre, the eighth-ranked player in the world, had his round go completely sideways at the 15th, when he put two balls in the water en route to a quadruple bogey. Frustrated, the Scotsman raised his middle finger, a gesture that reportedly drew a reprimand from Augusta National officials.

He did not get off to a good start in Round 2, doubling his first hole.
