Masters 2026 purse, payouts: A record $22.5 million is up for grabs this week at Augusta National

It’s Moving Day at Augusta National, and Rory McIlroy is in full control of the Masters.

McIlroy carried a six-shot lead into the weekend after a wild finish on Friday night, which gave him the largest 36-hole lead in tournament history. If he can hold on to grab the win, he’ll be just the fourth golfer to ever win the green jacket in consecutive years.

This time, the Masters is offering a record $22.5 million purse. While that’s not the largest in the golf world each season, it is the biggest in Masters history. That will send the winner home with a $4.5 million check.

The Masters offered $21 million last year, which earned McIlroy a $4.2 million check to go with his first career green jacket. That was in line with the other three major championships, too. The PGA Championship held a $19 million purse, and the British Open was last at $17 million. The U.S. Open beat the Masters slightly last summer with its $21.5 million purse.

The PGA Tour offers signature events with purses of at least $20 million this season, too, so the Masters is comparable to the Tour’s biggest events. The Players Championship is the richest event of the season, however, with its $25 million purse.

Here’s a look at how much each golfer still in the field at the Masters can take home on Sunday.
