The Seahawks selected Price after losing Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Price is the second Notre Dame running back selected in the first round after went third overall to the Arizona Cardinals. Per the NFL, Notre Dame is the first school to produce two running backs selected in the first round of a single draft since the NFL-AFL merger in 1966.
Price worked with Love as half of arguably the best running back tandem in college football last season. The Seahawks are hoping he can fill the same role in Seattle while playing along Zach Charbonnet.
The Seahawks had a need at the position after Walker’s exit. Walker commanded a high price in free agency after securing Super Bowl MVP in Seattle’s championship win over the New England Patriots and signed with the Chiefs for three years and up to $45 million.
Per the NFL’s rookie wage scale, Price will come at a considerably cheaper cost of roughly $16.8 million over four seasons as the No. 32 pick.

Price thrived in a limited role as the No. 2 option behind Love, tallying 674 yards and 11 touchdowns on 6 yards per carry and 6 catches for 87 yards and 2 more touchdowns through the air.
Price also worked as Notre Dame’s primary kick returner. He led the FBS with an average of 37.5 yards per return and returned two for touchdowns. He could be a dangerous kick returner for the Seahawks in addition to his role in Seattle’s offense.
