Two of the most famous and successful footballers of the past two decades will meet on the field this Thursday in what could be the last-ever World Cup match for one of them. 40-year-old Luka Modric of Croatia and 41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal made news as some of the oldest players in the tournament, and the two will face off in the knockout Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in a match that will see one team advance and the other head home.
