Trent Williams, 49ers agree to 2-year, $50 million contract extension, per agents

Offensive tackle Trent Williams and the San Francisco 49ers have reached agreement on a two-year, $50 million contract extension, his agents announced on Monday.

The new contract includes $37 million in guaranteed money for the 15-year veteran and a $22 million signing bonus. With the deal, Williams becomes the first non-quarterback in NFL history to earn more $400 million in contract value and $225 million in guaranteed money, according to his agency Elite Loyalty Sports.

Williams, 37, was in the final year of a three-year, $82.6 million deal that he signed in 2024. He is set to be paid a base salary of $32.6 million this season with a salary cap hit of $46 million for the 49ers.

Williams has started 84 games at left tackle for the 49ers during the past six seasons, earning five Pro Bowl berths and first-team All-NFL four times. He played the first nine years of his NFL career with the Washington Commanders, collecting another seven Pro Bowl nods.
