The Minnesota Twins’s home opener hit a major snag on, with the team’s stadium losing power for about an hour shortly before the game.

Target Field suffered the power outage, which appears to have affected the entire Minneapolis neighborhood of North Loop, around 1:52 p.m. central time — just over an hour before the 3:10 p.m. first pitch. Power was not returned to the stadium until 2:48 p.m., per multiple reporters.

The outage postponed the pregame ceremonies for the matchup, which was supposed to start at 3:10 p.m. CT. The stadium’s Jumbotron will take up to 30 minutes to warm up, per multiple reporters, meaning that the game will be slightly delayed.

The planned pregame program is set to include a ceremony honoring Minnesota-based U.S. Olympians — including curling team Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, and a group of Minnesota Frost players led by Kendall Coyne Schofield — followed by the national anthem.

Friday was also supposed to be the debut of the Twins’ new “pregame happy hour,” which included $2 beers, $2 hot dogs and other $2 ballpark snacks for fans who arrive before start time at 3:10 p.m. However, the stadium’s concessions, which are all cashless, were also take out of commission as a result of the outage, per the Minnesota Post’s Pat Borzi.

With the power back on, fans can go back to enjoying their discounted snacks. Borzi reports that the return of the power was met with a big cheer from the crowd.
