Who's going to win the 126th U.S. Open?
Can we pick Shinnecock Hills? Because it's going to.
There have been five U.S. Opens held there. Exactly three players have finished under par, making it the dream course for the USGA, which gets full-on euphoric seeing over-par rounds.

The course isn't supposed to play anywhere close to easy this week, with winds gusting and, consequently, greens drying out.
With that said, here are our picks to win:
Jay Busbee: Scottie Scheffler
Sure, he's in what qualifies for him as a slump — "only" one win for him this year. But Scheffler is in position to claim the career grand slam, and on his birthday, no less ... two facts you're sure to hear about all week. This course sets up well for his strengths off the tee, and he's smart enough to think his way around it when sheer brute force won't do. Scheffler wins, claims the career grand slam, and then we can go back to wondering if Jordan Spieth and/or Phil Mickelson will ever complete the career grand slam. (No.)

Ryan Young: Cameron Young
Look, it's time. Cameron Young, who almost always seems to be in the mix, will claim his first major championship title this week. The man has been incredibly consistent, with six top-10 finishes and a pair of wins already this season, and climbed up to No. 3 in the world. He even led the Masters briefly earlier this year before finishing in third, and he finished in fourth last season at the U.S. Open after having to play his way in. He's going to break through eventually. What better place to do that than at home in New York?
Jay Hart: Russell Henley
To win at Shinnecock is going to take some extreme scrambling, and there is not a better scrambler in the game right now than Henley. Pair that with his driving accuracy — hitting 71.89% of fairways off the tee, tops in all of the PGA Tour — and Henley is set up well to win his first ever major. And don't think this would be a Cinderella story … Henley is, after all, ranked No. 5 in the world.
