Despite Cunningham’s numbers he will not be eligible to receive individual accolades. With Cunningham needing to play in Monday’s game against the Orlando Magic, Cunningham will not be eligible for NBA awards this season due to the 65-game rule. The 65-game rule, which was introduced during the 2023-24 season, requires players to play at least 65-games to be eligible for NBA awards such as MVP, DPOY and the All-NBA teams.

Cunningham has played in 61 games and the Pistons will only have two games remaining if he is cleared to play after his evaluation. Cunningham was expected to be in the running for categories such as All-NBA and MVP before he went down.
